Makarand Purohit is a Bhilai- based documentary filmmaker, senior researcher, photographer and a Journalist.He did his Masters in Social Work and spent more than 16 years of his professional life in researching and working on issues related to health, water and environment that are critical for the human development.

His passion for photography and filmmaking has motivated him to join India Water Portal. Since 2014, many of his short documentaries were nominated, screened and awarded during various International Film Festivals held at Delhi, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Romania and Japan.
